Klete Keller Was Former American Olympian Part of Capitol Riots?

Klete Keller, a two-time U.S. Olympic swimming gold medalist, was seemingly among the rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol last week, according to video footage. In the video footage Klete Keller was not wearing any mask though he was wearing a Team USA jacket during riot. Keller was part of the U.S swim team and won medals at the 2000,2004, and 2008 Summer Olympics in the 400-meter freestyle and 4×200-meter freestyle relay.

There are Some former teammates and coaches said they recognized Keller in the video footage. However, USA Swimming spokesperson could neither confirm nor deny that it is Keller seen in the video. The USA Swimming spokesperson said:
“[W]e respect private individuals’ and groups’ rights to peacefully protest but in no way condone the actions taken by those at the Capitol last week.”

The riots by pro-Trump supporters in protest of the election certification of President-elect Joe Biden was ended up in the death of five people, including a U.S Capitol Policer officer on January 6th. Many people have been arrested since the riots and the FBI said that they’ve filed more than 160 cases and are investigating more than 100,000 pieces of digital evidence that they have received.
